Send money fast to anyone, at any bank, at any time with no transfer fees.
Need to pay your friend back for lunch? Maybe you need to pay your babysitter or lawn guy? With Pay-UpSM from Texas First Bank, all you need is an email address or phone number and you can securely send money from your TFB debit card to anyone, at any bank* through the Texas First Bank mobile app and Online Banking portal.
How does it work?
- Select Pay-Up under Transactions in your Online Banking portal or TFB mobile app.
- Enter the amount and the recipient’s email address or phone number to securely send money from your debit card.
- The recipient will receive an email or text notification with payment details, and accept the payment using either their debit card or bank account information.
- If the recipient uses a participating debit card*, the funds will be sent to their checking account immediately. If they choose to use a bank account number, the payment will be received within 3-5 business days. No login, app download, or registration is required for the recipient! Payments are processed and protected in the same manner as PIN-based point of sale debit card.

*Some institutions may not be set up to receive debit card payments. In that case, payments must be received using bank account information.
To send money, log into Online Banking. Select Transactions from the left hand column, select Pay-Up, register your TFB debit card (if you haven’t already) and get started!

What do I need to access Pay-Up?
To use the service, you must have a Texas First Bank debit card linked to a personal or business checking account, a valid email address for the recipient, and access to either Texas First Bank Online Banking or the mobile application.
Can I use a debit card from another financial institution to SEND money via Pay-Up?
Unfortunately, no. Loading debit cards from other financial institutions (banks or credit unions) will not work via this service. Only Texas First Bank debit cards can be loaded.
How does the receiver collect the funds?
The recipient will receive a notification via email or text message (whichever was specified by the sender) with the payment information and a link to collect their funds. The recipient then enters his/her debit card or bank account information to get the money. The recipient has up to 10 days to collect the funds or the money will be credited back to the sender's account. No registration or login is required to receive the funds.
Is there a fee to send money?
There is no transfer fee for Texas First Bank customers who wish to use this service.
Is Pay-Up secure?
Yes! There is no need to share your account number with anyone. Money is sent securely using just an email address or phone number. Person-to-Person (P2P) Money Transfer payments are processed and protected in the same manner as PIN-based point of sale debit card transactions.
When is the money available?
If the recipient chooses to collect the funds via a debit card, the funds are available to them within minutes! If they choose to collect using a checking or savings account, the money will be credited to their account within 3-5 business days.
Why do I have to enter a PIN to verify my transaction?
Person-to-Person (P2P) Money Transfer payments are processed as PIN-based debit card transactions. The PIN you established for your TFB debit card is the same PIN you should use here.
Why does the pin pad scramble after I enter each number of my PIN?
The PIN pad will scramble after you enter each digit of your PIN number as an added layer of security.
When will the money be taken from my account?
The funds will be debited as soon as you send it. The recipient has 10 days to collect the money. If the money is not collected in 10 days, you will be notified and the funds will be credited back to your account within 1-2 business days.
What if the receiver gets a message saying that their card is not eligible to receive funds?
In order to use your debit card, your bank must be a participating institution. If recipient is unable to use their debit card, then the recipient will be asked to enter their bank's routing number and account number (shown at the bottom of your checks) to receive the money. This type of transaction will take 3-5 business days to process.
Is there a payment limit?
Personal accounts may send up to $500 per transaction, $1,000 per day, and $3,000 per month or the available balance in your checking account, whichever is less. The maximum number of transactions are 5 per day and 10 per week.
